Wouldn't it be great if will called snowboarders "snurfers" lol Doesn't sound so cool, maybe we would have more skiers.:eek:

I remember when snowboarding started picking up. The guys in the snowboarding videos never really impressed me. Their carving and turning didn't look good and wasn't a fluid movement.
If you watch a video now adays you can definitely tell that snowboarding has come a long way. I think its actually improved skiing as well, forcing the younger generation skiers to be more versatile. Before snowboarding it was rare to hear of skiers performing 720's or 900's.

If it weren’t for the Snurfer snowboarding may not even exist today because it is a true fact that Jake Burton was inspired directly by the Snurfer to produce his first board. That's what he started out on.

Exactly. Snurfer paved the way for the future of snowboarding. And snowboarding complimented the sport of skiing by the tricks which were adopted from them by the latter.
