I'm interested in knowing how old most of you were when you started skiing? I(m wondering if those who start earlier really do turn out to be the best. I started skiing at around 10 years old, which I'm guessing is pretty late compared ot most of you...

Not really, I only started skiing when I was about 12 - 13.

Like I said in a different post, I started at the age of 12 with the help of my dad. I think it's good to start at an early age because you won't be embarassed as much if you were to fall, heh. It also helps to build confidence at a young age.

yeh i also started at 10, wasn't with any of my family tho i was with friends i went skiing for the first time with my family last year and my younger sister was a beginner. She caught it far faster than any of the adults in the group :)

It seems to be the same for all the younger ones. It's scary to see some of them fly down the piste with their crash helmets on. :eek:

Would have loved to grow up in a country with a skiing season, but you can't have everything.

yeh it would be so much cheaper as well.

I started at about 12 years old. I started my son out at age two.
