About 3 years ago my cousin had a really bad injury due to snowboarding, broke his nose and his arm. I felt really bad for him then.

How did he fall exactly to break arm and his nose? Face first? Sideways and landed on his face? like whiplashed?

Basically, I wasn't there at the time, I only heard from him, he was going down a hill or something and a rock was there and he tripped over it and flew forward, landing on his face but broke his arm because he tried catching himself or something.

A rock? on an authentic skiing resort? or was it just a random hill he was having fun with?

There can be rocks on ski slopes of course, what do you think is under the snow? There is nothing they can do if some of the snow quicly melts and no one notices.

It really does show you, a lot of people seem to be having injuries on the smaller slopes rather from doing tricks etc!

Yes, especially when you have rocks + ice, that's a recipie for disaster.
