TomC 01-12-04, 06:10 PM Hi, Well I don't think there is much you can do about that except skip out the Apres-Skiing! Michael 01-12-04, 06:20 PM I don't think Apres-Skiing could be skipped out! It's one of the highlights of the trip! Ross 08-12-04, 01:26 PM Originally posted by Michael@Dec 1 2004, 07:20 PM I don't think Apres-Skiing could be skipped out! It's one of the highlights of the trip! Agreed! Just breathe in some of the fresh mountain air, see how that cures your hangover. You're right Ross, the mountain air does bring great relief. Michael 09-12-04, 09:48 PM Just found a good guide here; http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A103140 May be of some use to you. Oxygen Popular wisdom dictates a brisk walk in fresh mountain air to dispel those post-binge blues, but the problem is that when you really need it, the last thing you're capable of doing is getting up off the floor, let alone going out into the outside world. The theory is that the increased oxygen flow improves the metabolic rate, and thus increases the speed at which the poisons are broken down. Be that as it may, SCUBA divers have long known that a blast from the tank first thing in the morning does wonders in blowing away the fog. Michael 30-08-05, 11:07 PM Apres.. which is French means "after".. It is basically what you do after you go skiing, mostly associated with drinking large ammounts of alcohol! Do they not call it Apres-Ski in the states? utbeastie 01-09-05, 04:40 AM Oh, that makes sense now. No, I have never heard of it called Apres-Ski. I dont think there really is a formal name for it. No, I have never heard of it called Apres-Ski. I dont think there really is a formal name for it. I think it is mainly referred to Apres-Ski in Europe, not really sure if they have a name for it in the states. makemedie 09-01-06, 07:44 PM I didn't know that part where we got drunk had a name :D Wow, hehe you learn something new everyday ;) Superteddy 11-01-06, 04:50 PM My tip would just be to look out for that tree that is comming towards you. Yes you know the one.. Fast, big, green nails on it. When you see it comming jump either left or right. Do not, i say again, Do not try to stop, just jump left or right. hehe.. Mr.Crizi 19-02-08, 01:50 PM Anyone got any tips for trying to learn how to ski when you are so hungover and tired that you can barely walk? try skiing when your to drunk and can barely walk ... hah take a glass of water before u go bed and a painkiller, and be sure to wake up with a glass of water next to bed the next morning... and you won't be hungover :) not to bad anyways :D yarddog313 20-05-08, 06:42 PM definitely shotgun a can of beer, instant hangover remedy. Fresh air as stated above is the best way though, that way you aren't drunk again on your warm up lap. Though if you want the best remedy, become friends with an emt and get an IV first thing in the am mozzer 28-05-08, 05:44 PM UTbeastie, cant believe you have never heard of the term apres-ski pronounced apray ski btw. as a brit I ski alot across the pond, mainly Whistler, Vail, and Breck - and they sure know what it is there! You'll have to hook up with us at some point and we'll really show you :P shutterbug 30-07-08, 08:15 PM I ski in the states and have heard Apres-Ski...both in Colorado (Breck) and Seven Springs, PA. Unfortuantely, I have not found the cure for what normally happens afterward :) mortabunt 22-09-08, 11:56 PM Take something to get rid of the pain, bleed it out, not ski, or cut back on the booze. |
