I've been skiing since I was about 3 years old. I'm now 21, so that's 18 years. :) It's probably the one thing I've done for the longest time besides eat and sleep. ;)

I have never snow skied......Only water skied....Thinking about trying the snow..

FF - You should really try snow skiing, it's great fun and doesn't get you too wet :D Water skiing looks like fun, I might give it a shot!

WLW - You should get back at it, I know a guy who started when he was about 5 but continued on and now he is 21 .. He's now amazing at skiing.

I am 33 and went on my first skiing holiday in January of this year. Prior to that I'd only been skiing for about an hour once on a dry ski slope when I was in my teens. As you can imagine, I'm pretty bad... but it's fun all the same!

You really shouldn't try dry slopes *ouch*, they could put you off skiing for life if you were to fall badly :P

Yeah, you're right. I was put off and had serious reservations about this latest trip. I'm glad I overcame those, though, because I enjoyed it.

LOL... I'm not sure when the next skiing trip will be.

I prefer more restful holidays. I'm off to Barcelona for a break in June.

I'm also going to Toronto in September (but that won't be restful... I'm doing a marathon there).

I have been ski-ing for about 5 or 6 years now, started when I was 9/10 :)

I actually just got into skiing for about a year now since my friend got me into it. There is no feeling quite like the one you get when you are skiing down a mountain.

I have been skiing since I was 15. I try to get out about once or twice a year.

Only about 2 years....

I have only been twice, but i hope to go a lot more.

My brother is liek real good at water skiing he got some kinda award for being liek 2nd best in something ahile back he help me out.

he got me into it like 2 years ago im pretty ok i need to master so jumps but im pretty good.

i'm going to ski for the 12th year now, this year i'll turn 16 so when i was four i started to ski :) and i still like it. i also took snowboard lessons once but it sucked so much :S skiing is much better ;)

I've been skiing for 7 years

at 10 days at a time, means i have been skiing and snowboarding a total of 70 days :)

I'm mostly doing 7 skiing days and 2 traveling days. but i think 7 days is a bit to short i would like to do 10-12 days also but i don't have more vacation.

been skiing since i was about 10 so roughly 7 yrs give or take think i might hav missd one out. usually get away about once a year whioch is a shame because i'd like to go a lot more.........teh snow don't fall here in Ireland :(

I've never been skiing, but I do snowboard. My favorite past-time in the world is snowboarding. As a skateboarder, snowboarding was only naturaly and I've been at it for 6 years(im only 16 yrs now). Its hard to get up to the mountain without rides(parents work), and finding time with work and being strapped for cash, but I manage about 10 times per season, mainly by bus(Mount Washington, British Columbia)

I went water skiing before, and skiing :D

I started getting into skiiing when I was 5 and then when I was 15 I moved to Texas. Now I only go ever winter so I'd say a good 10 years.

I started with skateboarding when I was 17. Moved onto snowboarding and skiing when I came to New Zealand about 3 years ago.

skateboarding: 7 years
Snowboarding: 6 years
Cross-Country: 15 years ( not on a high level or anyting, but as a kid in norway its usuall to go skiing much with family etc, dont need to be a long trip either. )

Like....never 0.o I wish to learn, and I should by now, but I never had the chance. I'm going to see if I can this summer though.

Haven't tried it yet :) I plan on doing it during next winter, however. Hopefully I'll enjoy it.

I'm also a beginner, I live in wisconsin though so I can't really do anything with no snow :P

I'm new, but I did skii this winter so I have little experience, I'm able to atleast go down a small hill while keeping my balance so I suppose thats decent.

Have been skiing over 20 years - have rarely missed a year and sometimes managed more than one trip! Love it and am so glad I persevered when I was hopeless in my 1st lessons!

I am 34 years old. I started skiing when I was about 16 in high school. After I graduated I started a career and din't think too much about skiing being busy and all. It was about 12 years later in 2002 that I started again. Since then I have been trying to ski more and more often. This year I plan to ski at least once a week maybe more. I can't wait for snow!

On a side note; I was really quite surprised in 2002 when I started skiing again after 12 years of not skiing. I was able to pick up right where I left off. For me skiing is definately like riding a bike.
After 12 years i thought that the best way to get started again would be by skiing the "bunny" hill. My wife and I both agreed to start out there since she had not skiied in several years either. We took the short lift ride to the top of the bunny hill and laughed at ourselves the whole way down because it was so easy. From there we went and skiied all of our favorite runs just like we had done in our youth.
We were able to ski just fine and didn't really think too much about it because we were having so much fun, but by the end of the day we were both so sore we could hardly walk. While we both still knew how to ski, our bodies were just not ready to spend all day skiing and they let us know in a big way!

i am skiing for only about 4 years and hardly go maybe once or twice a season now i am almost 22 its just hard for me to get out to the slopes and specialy when i have no friends that are really interested in skiing (like me)

I started skiing when I was 5, stopped at the age of 17 after almost loosing an eye in a accident. I got to the mountain about 5 times last season for the 1st time in 10 years. This year I've gotten over 100 days at Whiteface. I am proud to say I am a re-addicted skier

On and off (depending on the complexities and curveballs of life) for about 20 years. Although I ski mainly black diamond terrain (groomed trails only), I still classify myself as Intermediate (I guess I am adanced), but I do refrain from calling myself an "expert". I still feel there is more I can learn. Practice makes perfect and I still make mistakes sometimes.

I first skied when I was around 20 years ago. but had a big break until around 5 years ago when i moved to Whistler, and now I ski around 100 days a season :)

Not ice, hardpack. To ski the stuff, all you haveto do is just ski, because if you can really turn, it is not ice, even though getting used to hardpack in unnerving because you think that crunch is ice.

since i was three so ummm a hella long time

I skied a few times in my teens and then went mad for cross country skiing for about 6 years, then oved to UK and started skiing (10 year ago) down hill. Love it. Closest thing to heaven that I know!

I'm a late bloomer but I think that I started so late at 25, I still have killer knees...not killed knees...hahahaha. I'm 47 now, so I've been skiing for 22 years and am actually a patroller now. I can bash bumps all day long with the kids, preferrably in freshies but it really doesn't matter, I love the bumps. :)

I was so proud when I got up first time water skiing, I loved it, as it was the only sport I have ever looked good at, let alone be able to do (actually I was probably really crap but I stayed up right!) It hurt my arms and unless I was going to start jumping over sharks ... I got a bit board!
Skiing? Well I was like Bridiget jones and that was after 6 years! Now after 10 years and half living in Austria I cant let my kids be better than me after 2 seasons (and they are!) I taught them and now they have overtaken me!

snow might end up as water when melted but its not the same to ski on, ask any one who has been at the end of the ski season and its heated up try skiing on a puddle of water! you get wet!

I've been skiing since I was about 5 so this will be my 16th season. I stopped skiing for about 4 seasons to snowboard and put the skis back on last year and regret missing out on those 4 seasons.

I started skiing in 1971, when I was 18, on Hart Hornets, Raichle boots and cool Marker bindings that would partially pop apart, (intentionally!), upon releasing. Nowadays everything is sooo much better. Current setup is Atomic Blackeyes/Metrons depending on conditions and mood. Skiing is still the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

hi, I have spend few days in Davos in Switzerland. It was really exciting. long slopes, in different dificulty. My soul is overfilled of imprssions. I have learnt skiing when I was 36. It was interesting indeed. Beacause I was dropped at an red slop in Austria.

Ever since I was 2 years old. Now im 17 and do everything that comes my way, since im going to get my pilots liscense after 10 more hours of flying, I will be skiing even more! ;) and flying to more destinations with my friends. YEA!!

Too long - at least my knees think so!! I started skiing when I was 'old' at 17 years. Unfortunately my parents weren't that well off and we lived a good distance away from the snow. So I didn't start until I got a job and was driving myself around. Now 38 years later I still enjoy it just as much! (although I try to avoid falling when ever possible)

I started skiing around the time I could walk. I am originally from Vermont so I think it is something that is in the water that makes us all avid skiers! I skied almost regulalrly up until a few years ago when my job transferred me out to the Chicago area. Not too many places to ski in the rolling plains of the US. On top of that we had kids, but now that they are getting old enough, teaching them to ski is a whole new adventure and excuse to high tail it to the slopes!

Started when I was 15. So that makes it about 25 years now. Have only missed one season in that time span, due to blowing my knee out on the first day of skiing 2 years ago.

I am 17 and i have been skiing since i was 6 years old. 11 years

started when i was 12. skied steady 20 days a year + till I was about 32. Took break. getting back into it thank god.

I don't remember when I first skied, my parents told me at about 3 years old they first put me on skis, never stopped since then, so that makes it around 27 years...

since the late 50's, when i was a very little kid, at aspen. things have really changed since then.

This is my second season! Moved to the Pyrenees 4 years ago to ride the mountain passes on my motorbike, never thought I would be able to ski, but I cant get enough of it! Now I ride Col du Tourmalet in summer and ski it in winter ......

18 years from age 3 to 21, then quit and switched to snowboarding for 8 years, back to skiing when they started putting a sidecut in them.

I started when I was 10. I remember the first moment as if it was yesterday.
So It's been 13 years, and I'm loving it more every single day.:)

My first time skiing was February this year, 5 days on the slopes, but it was so great that I just had to go again for 6 days in April, and then again a day on a indoor ski slope for a couple of hours one evening in June... Oh and on august 3rd I was skiing on a glacier! :D

I will definitely be going again this winter, and maybe another trip to the ski dome first!

i started when I was about 12. stopped after that season becasue I wasn;t close enough to any slopes. Took it up recently last season and have purchased my own set of skis. I've loved skiing and looking forward to this season
