I dont have a big fall story, but I remember my first day snowboarding. I probably fell 100 times. The next day my whole body ached.

Michael 29-08-05, 09:36 PM Sounds nasty, but I suppose we all have to fall sometimes :D It's what keeps us from going too fast ;) BigRed 30-08-05, 09:41 PM If it doesnt kill you it only makes you stronger. Which can only be a good thing. Adam 31-08-05, 11:52 PM Snowboarding on the first day is basically 'Fall to stop, OK?' ...well thats what it was like for me :P NumBa1Stunna516 02-09-05, 02:23 AM Ive only tried snowboarding once or twice. Didnt like it as much as skiing. Hot Sauce 25-09-05, 06:27 PM lol i fall so much its not even funny even my lil brother gets ahad of me sometimes once I ran into a rock and tripped up.. -tcwd- 25-09-05, 08:20 PM Snowboarding is definately much /harder/ than skiing. Or at least a little challenging.. dream30. 26-09-05, 10:55 PM First time snowboarders generally end up using their asses as landing pads lol.... its pretty much inevitable. In most cases, the people trying snowboarding havent done much 'board' sports, such as skateboarding, wakeboarding or even skimboarding... so its harder to learn the basics. As a natural skater i found my first time easier, but as always, i still fell. Since then ive improved, but bails become more and more painful, but less common... For example, more experienced tend to cruise down the hill and then if you snag something you tend to take a thrashing, or if you go up for some nasty moves. (**I've always been an idiot, and tend to take my body for granted. About my 10th time up, i decided to hit a jump and bust a backflip... word of advice, NEVER TRY IT. I rotated halfway, floated upside down and took a NASTY land on my neck right on a patch if ice... i was fine, but ive been more 'careful' when going off jumps**) Gamezmania 27-09-05, 06:40 PM Originally posted by -tcwd-@Sep 25 2005, 08:20 PM Snowboarding is definately much /harder/ than skiing. It can be harder for some and it can be easier for others - (on my point of view it's definitely harder for me). dream30. 28-09-05, 12:18 AM I've never been skiing, and dont think i ever will. The board is as natural to me as night is to the world :). But i dont find boarding as 'hard'... after a couple runs it kinda gets a hold of you and becomes natural. Opie 08-01-06, 05:59 PM Tried snowboarding recently for the first time not so long ago. I spent more time on my ass than on the boatd for the first three days, but after that the learning curve rises quite nicely. :) gotshoes 09-01-06, 04:34 PM I skated one year before I started with skateboarding so I kinda had the balance feeling there. Cant say I had a day with falling 500 times really, I rided quite well after 2-3 rounds down the hills. Even did a ollie on a very very little jump. makemedie 09-01-06, 07:47 PM I can proudly say that the first time I went skiing I didnt fall even once :D blank260 10-01-06, 08:23 PM For some reason, I didn't really have a problem with snowboarding. Yes, I fell a few times but I picked it up pretty quick and had some fun with it but I perfered skiing. |
