Hey all, my name is Lou. I'm from Lake Placid NY and just got back into skiing this season after takin 10 years off due to a freak accident where I almost lost an eye. Not a bad 1st season back though, got 115 days including 6 days at Snowbird and 1 day at Powder Mountain. Planning to get into some backcountry skiing next season and maybe another trip to Utah
Hi Lou, welcome to Talk Ski. How did you get your confidence back after what must have been a bad accident? Any tips?

Huh, how did I get my confidence back? I don't know how I actually got it back, I just happened to muster up the balls to get up and do it again. I've never really been the type of person to do things half assed so, I dropped all my money on a decent ski setup and a pass and proceeded to get my butt handed to me for about a month and a half. At first I was freaked out but after some time of getting schooled by my buddies, I just forgot about what happened to me and just started to enjoy myself again. I think the more time I was on my skis the more confidence I gained. To be honest though I get rocked in pow.
