I'm looking to get into some backcountry skiing next season, actually I should rephrase that, I'm not buying a season pass for next season because I want to focus on backcountry skiing for all of next season. I've been looking into gear and was wondering if anyone could give me some input on the stuff I've been checking out. For skis I'm really digging the Volkl M Rock Backcountry 177mm, bindings Black Diamond Fritschi Diamir Freeride Plus Bindings, and for boots the Scarpa F3 AT boots. does anyone have any input on this gear or any suggestions?

I think you are on the right track with your binding selection. I am debating if I should purchase a set myself...my close friends and family have been riding that binding for years and say nothing but positive things about them!

Huh, that's good to know. I've been doing a lot of reading on those bindings and haven't read a bad thing about them so far, just wanted to find out if anyone has had any experience on them
