I have been a skier my whole life and only tried snowboarding once and I cann't really see any reason to try snowboarding again. But as a side note I personally feel that snowboarding has been the best thing to happen to skiing since metal edges. Snowboarding changed the sport for the better, it changed the way we ski, it changed the shape of skis, it changed how we design resorts, and most of all it introduced millions of new people to the sport and helped make skiing cool again...

Well, both these sports are great. It just depend upon which of them do you feel extreme and hype. I tried both but I hunger for ski than snowboard. Maybe it's because of the more balance I get from using ski than board.

ski fun

Rollerblading=skiing skateboarding=snowboarding.

I don't want to sound obvious but I wonder if it would be easy for a skier to learn snowboarding and vice versa. My neigbor once told me that he learned skateboarding easily because he was fond of rollerblading before.... I don't if it's the same with skiing and snowboarding.

Love to ski but enjoy snowboarding in the spring when its warm and I know I'm gonna be on the ground most of the time. My 13 year old son alpine races at Okemo. When his race season is over I talk him into snowboarding with me. He too loves skiing but only tolerates snowboarding.
