Are cheap goggles safe?

There are lots of adverts like this one for goggles that are seemingly attractive, but are they really UV protective and shatter proof? I know that I may be being over cautious - does anyone have any experience of similar products?

Unless you fall on your face a lot, goggles should last a fair while... No point in being cheap about it really...

I would go for a pair you can actually try on and have some sort of tried and tested background. Or just get some Spy Soldiers on my recomendation and never ever want any other goggles again.
