Skiing In Utah-- advise needed

I am planning a 4 day ski trip to the Salt Lake City area but plan to go on a low budget. Can someone recommend a good area on the outskirts of SLC to look for a budget hotel? I am not exactly sure where I will ski but I do plan to ski a different resort every day. Also can you advise whether or not it is advisable to rent a 4x4/AWD, or do they keep the roads plowed fairly well? thanks

rather than park city, try ogden or places a little south of salt lake city where you can find really cheap rates. its all still a reasonably close distance to snowbird/alta/cottonwood/park city/snowbasin.

but yea, there is so much terrain there that resort-a-day is absolutely the way to go
