For more info on colorado ski resorts check out www.ripleysadventures.com
They have heavily discounter packages and are very knowledgeable about the resorts

I maybe biased but you cant beet the shed loads of snow and awesome terrain we have at Mammoth!

Deer Valley, Utah is what i have heard of as the best place to go skiing. Somewhere in South Dakota though is really cheap...perhaps the cheapest place

The place in South Dakota, Terry Peak, is probably cheap but not very big and hard to get to.

Vail, Steamboat, Big Sky, Jackson, and Deer Valley would be at the top of my list.
