Clothing question
I am about to spend a winter in Colorado doing a lot of skiing,
and need advise on a good ski clothing setup. I am planning on having of base layer of: Minus33 100% Merino wool Boxer Brief ($26) Minus33 100% Merino wool Full Zip Top - Expedition weight of 400g/m2 ($80) Minus33 100% Merino wool bottom - Expedition weight of 400g/m2 ($60) Mid layer of: Minus33 100% Merino wool Full Zip Hoody - Expedition weight of 400g/m2 ($110) Inexpensive medium fleece from a department store Outer layer of: Uninsulated ski pants Uninsulated Waterproof/breathable ski shell Other clothing: Minus33 100% Merino wool Balaclava ($16) Minus33 3/4 length sock - 52% Merino Wool, 48% poly/nylon/spandex ($10) Inexpensive insulated ski gloves Fleece hat and headband Does this setup sound about right for skiing in the Colorado Rockies? I am wondering if I should go with the mid-weight (230g/m2) baselayer tops or bottoms, or hoody? Minus33 has some great prices as compared to other name brands, and the Menio wool is heavenly. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
