Drive Jackson Hole to Telluride - what to see on the way

Hi, I am planning a ski trip that will involve Jackson Hole and Telluride. This has been a goal of mine for a while and I cannot wait! To make the most of it we want to take a couple of days on the road - does anyone have any recommendations of what to see or where to stay on the way. Thinking of taking 2 or 3 nights between the two resorts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
