First time out West (USA) - any recommendations?

I have been skiing for nine years, and I am going back out west for the first time since I was having my first days on skis. I have not been skiing much, except for the 2-3 times a year at places in penslyvania like liberty, whitetail, and roundtop. I typically go with a group anually to snowshoe/seven springs. Any advice on where to go? I am heading to Lake Tahoe.

P.S., could I get answers from people who ski around where I do?
