My lucky friend - who flew off a bridge!

Had a friend that wanted to join us when we went to Oppdal ( small place near where i live. ) He had never been skiing before but he didn't tell us that. Once on top of the slope we started on the journey down. He did okay at first but then we came to a bridge and there is a sharp 90 degree turn left right passed the bridge. When we had passed and looked back we could see that he was doing something. ( trying to come down without going to fast. ) After a good 30 sec he came in full speed. About 20 meters from the bridge he shut his eyes and held his arms out to the side. He went flying off the bridge and landed about 15 meters down in a tree. He didn't break anything but he was blue all over and had to be flown down with a chopper. He hasn't gone with us since that time and still blush when we talk about the time he was passing for a skier

yeah similar thing happened to me when iw as ten it was the first day ever skiing for me and everyone else was going up the mountain. I had had one lesson and was convinced that i could make it down one of the blue runs without problems, that was when i realised we hadn't learned to turn yet ending up flying down the slope and throwing myslef to the ground so that i could stop

Well when I went skiing recently a younger kid was two chair lifts in front of me, his friends being in the one in front of me.. the kid turned around to talk to his friends, did so. But when he turned around he ended up falling 30 feet below. Had to be flown out by a chopper.. broken rips, arm, and leg.. talk about ouccch.

Sounds terrible, I always thought it looked very easy for young kids to slip through ton a chair lift.
