Skate skii help.
I just decided to take up skate skiing because I have played hockey for 8 years and downhill ski occasionally. I cannot for the life of me get started when I go to glide. I am so used to using my toe and bending my knees that I always drag my toe no matter what I try. It seems as though if I try and keep my leg straight as I transfer weight this works the best as not to drag the tip of my ski, however it does not allow me enough power to actually move forward.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. It took me 1.5hrs to do a trail that my brother in law does in 20min... I am in need of some serious help. |

Good to hear that you are in to skiing now.
Just do more practice for you to master the proper way of skiing.
