What insurance cover for skiing?
What insurance cover do you get when you go skiing?
We all know it's sensible to have insurance for injury, but how many of us remember to insure for things like absence of snow? Aaron |

I normally just use the injury insurance and ensure the snow will be good in that area before i go

I see... but you can never be absolutely sure about that, can you? Or can you with some locations?

I can't say I've ever got insurance for absence of snow....
I would usually book a place that has plenty of surrounding ski resorts, so usually somewhere will have snow. It would be disappointing mind you to spend a lot of money and arrive to the sight of green mountains :| |

I agree completely. Although I might not be newbie skiier, I still make sure to get ATLEAST injury insurance. Even the best of us make mistakes sometimes. |

I've never bought insurance, at my usual mountain they have a 2 hour Money Back Gaurantee. What this means is, if you're not satisified with the snow conditions, you have 2 hours upon purchasing a ticket to return it. The only time i bought some sort of insurance was the first time i went up, when i had to board, boots, etc. so i had to rent, and get renters insurance. As for injury insurance.... im not so worried, death or injury isnt a worry in my life, i live by the edge, and im not afraid to get hurt... from past experiences, nothing will keep me down.

exactly i had a friend who skied into a fence producing a nasty wound around his eye this was the result of a beginner skier colliding with him. you can never be sure what might happen even if you are a good skier

another factor would be if you wear a helmet.... helmetless is very unsafe, with a lot of 'newbies', getting taking down and smacking your head on a poll, person, tree, ice, etc. are common. I would never go without my helmet.... its my 'insurance'
