Why don't ski resorts require skiers/boarders to wear helmets?
Hey guys i need help with this question because i am trying to do a argument paper for english. My topic is that: Ski Resorts need to require skiers and snowboarders to have ASTM/SEI approved helmets on when they ski in addition to stressing their rules of conduct because this will decrease the amount of fatalities, create a healthier and safer environment for all skiers and snowboarders, and it will increase the amount of new skiers and snowboarders.
But i need an answer to this question: Why don't ski resorts require skiers/boarders to wear helmets? thanks to all in advance ![]()

Probably because there aren't any laws to enforce such a rule. There are disclaimers on your lift ticket (usually). In my state there is a law that kids under 13 or 14 must wear helmets when riding a bike.
I'd imagine there'd have to be enough injuries to get legislature to create such laws. In the 15 years I've skied Hunter Mountain I've only known of one death. |
