Boot Advice

Hello All - I'm a new member and beginner to intermediate skier. Just hit the slopes for the first time this season yesterday in the Catskills, New York. My Nordica season rental boots were killing me. Any suggestions on which boots may be better suited for a wider foot? I'm planning to go switch them out at my local ski shop and may even consider buying a pair, if I could get a good deal. appreciate any advise. Thanks.
