Ski boots to fit after fx repair w/ insertion of plate in lower leg/ankle area
Please Help! I Tried To Ski Aftr Breaking My Left Tibia/fibular/ankle Last March. I Had A Surgical Repair W/ Bilateral Plates And Screws Then In Sept. I Had To Have The Smaller Plate Removed Due To Infection. I Attempted To Ski Last Month And Had Difficulty Getting My Foot In The Boot (ankle Doesn't Bend As Well As It Use To) When I Buckled Up It Was Very Painful Not To Mention The Pain When I Tried To Walk! I Did Make 3 Short Runs And Then Quit.i Felt Good That I Skied At All But I Since Have Been Inquiring About A Boot That Would Accomodate That Kind Of Injury And Be Relatively Comfortable. The Other Alternative Would Be To Have The Other Plate Surgially Removed.(i Dread That Since The Last Time I Did That I Went In For An Overnighter And Ended Up In A Facility For 5 Weeks For Iv Antibiotics! (insurance Wouldn't Cover Home Care!) Anyway, If Anyone Has Any Ideas Or Suggestions I Would Appreciate It! I'm Not Ready To Give Up Skiing Just Yet, I'm 71yo And My Goal Is To Ski Until I'm 80 And Lift Tickets Are Free!!!!!!.............marge 37
