I bought a pair of Armada ARVs. I bought them new, but they were from last season, so I was able to get a good deal. I haven't had a chance to test them out in powder, but I hope to this week, so I can let you know.
__________________Otherwise, I had really good luck with the Salomon Guns last year. I skied on them as demos for 2 days after a huge powder dump at Alta, and they were fantastic. I would have bought them for this season, but I got such a good deal on the Armadas, which should be similar in performance. |

I'm on about a 165 in the ARVs, I think. Armada makes a few other powder skis, including a women-specific model, but I'm tall (5'10") and usually like the standard ski over the women's model. They aren't that wide under foot, and have a nice side cut to them.
I would suggest maybe doing a demo of those and of the Salomon Teneighty Guns, and maybe the K2s. Even with the 165s, they are very negotiable even in bumps. I would worry less about the length and more about the overall feel. |
