Hi im chris i live in new england and my favorite mountains to ski are killington in vermont and wildcat in new hampshire

i was googling around (im a fellow webmaster) and i found your site in this thread

you asked about things that turned people off by joining/posting on your forum and i figured i would list a few

number one for me

email validation it drives me insane, i know many people who won't join a site at all if email validation is required

i know you do it so you get members real emails but all in all i think it just discourages people from posting/registering


another issue i saw was that your forum is only about skiing (a winder sport)

i love skiing but honestly i really have no reason to come here during summer mabye you should expand your forum topics a little bit

and as far as SEO goes i highly recommend vBSEO 3.0 GOLD if your serious about SEO for your forum

well ill try and pop in everynow and then to see how things are going

Thanks for joining the forum! Email validation is pretty necessary, I had it disabled for a while and the majority of signups that I got were basically spam bots and I had to spend ages deleting spam posts!

Interesting point, maybe I should ask the members if they would be interested in discussing anything else here, maybe watersports as well or something.

As for the newest version of vBSEO, what are the main benefits of the newest version , are there a lot more features or something? If so I suppose I can just upgrade my license and download it.

about the spam bots, there are a few great modifcations at vbulletin.org to prevent them

and i think adding different topics to the forum besides skiing would be great

and the new version of vBSEO has a few more features nothing huge though

when i posted that i didn't realize you where already running a version of vBSEO
