Advice on New Mexico resorts
I am thinking about a trip to the resorts in New Mexico next winter, and am wondering what the optimal month would be for good snow conditions; ideally feedback from someone who lives in the northern New Mexico area or has skiied the area many times over the years. From my reading, it sounds like some of the resorts make snow, others do not, and ice-pack can be a problem, so I am hoping to make the trip as worthwhile as possible. I'll probably go to Taos, as I always hear great reviews, but also some/all of the smaller "family" resorts like Sipapu.

I'd recommend to go there in February as I did and it was absolutely magnificent.

Ski New Mex
Google for skiing in N.M. to find the web sites for the ski areas and then visit the web sites. They do a pretty good job of describing themselves and you can find out things like which ones don't allow snow boards, how difficult or convenient it is to get to the area from your accomodations, eating places, etc.
