Best place on east coast and out west
Hi,
What is the best ski resort on the east coast. Taking into account size (larger/better than snowshoe, WV) of resort and just an all around cool place to go? How about out west? |

Mad River Glen is definitely the coolest place to ski in the East. One of the smallest, but the real thing. Real snow, real people, real challenge.

Although both of those area have great terrain you have to put up people who care more about how they look than how they ski. Give me laid back, real people any time!

I have no opinion about the East Coast, having never skied there. Someday I'll give it a try (when I have the time and money etc.)
But out west I like Whistler. And I've heard very very good things about Fernie in BC. Whistler has a tremendous amount and variety of terrain (biggest resort in the Americas, with a vertical mile of elevation) and large amounts of snow. Perhaps not the highest quality of snow, but boy do they have quantity. |

Mad River: No snowboarders IMO: Jay Peaks the best in VT great glades and shorter lift lines a little less expensive. Foor some reason they get great accumulation. It's remote little to no restaurants, but better conditions. 70 person gondola to the top is fun. Ping |
