Places to stay in St Anton (Austria)
Hi folks,
Thinking of taking a Ryanair flight to Friedrichshafen and heading down to St Anton 1st week in Jan '08. Was looking at going Thursday to Thursday (3-10) but do I have much hope of getting accommodation outside of the standard Saturday to Saturday? Looking for something either self catering or catered which is fairly cheap and cheerful, fairly close to the slopes for a group between 4 and 6! Any advice on where I might find such accom would be much appreciated or failing the mid week option, a few suggestion on where to look for accommodation in St Anton in general would be great. Many Thanks, John (An Irish man living in Australia but hoping to ski in Austria after Christmas!) |

John,
__________________Thanks for posting! I haven't actually been to St Anton yet, would love to go though. I don't think you should have a problem finding accomodation, here is a website that I find useful - http://austria.europe-mountains.com/...rg-hotels.aspx The only thing I would say is that I know people who were at St.Anton last year around Xmas/Jan time and the snow was terrible! Thanks, Michael |

Hey,
Only noticed your post now! I went skiing to St. Anton with a group of 16 people during New Years, it was our second year there and was just as amazing as the year before! The same group of us has traveled to many parts of Austria: Zellamsee, Soll, Westendorf, Kitzbuhel and a few others. St. Anton has been the best location for us. The reason; good nightlife, great selection of ski slopes and the great hotels/restaurants. We have stayed in the post hotel the last two times but I have heard good things from most of the hotels. Anyway this post is obviously way too late, but hopefully it will help someone!
