Ski Utah - Can you stay in SLCity?
I have never been to Salt lake. I don't know where i want to ski. Probally Alta/Snowbird, Park City and Deer Valley. Can you stay cheaper in Salt lake City at hotels and do they offer shuttles to and from most resorts?
I don't want to rent a car. Thanks |

yes you can. Was there last year and stayed in park city, but realized later that we easily could have stayed in SLC, saved $$$, and had an easy ride to all the resorts. No where near as hard to make the drive from SLC to resorts as it is Denver to Summit county resorts in Colorado.

SLC skiing
Yes, you can stay in SLC..we just got back from 3 days of killer skiing at Alta (skiers only, YEAH!), Brighton and Solitude. Pick a hotel close to the base of the mountains that will provide a shuttle pickup to and from the SLC Airport. Here's what we did:
Stayed at the Crystal Inn/Midvale, 3 nites and the 4th is free, around $350 w/tax total for us. Family of 4 so this was great. Rooms are good size, hotel is clean and staff is nice; pool & jacuzzi and small workout room. Free full breakfast, coffee 24/7 and free light dinner (I had seconds and no one complains!). Also, most hotels and ski shops/rental offer smoking ticket discounts that will include bus fare. You are just 2 blocks from a UTA Park and Ride bus stop that goes to 4 major ski areas, last ride departs 7:15am. $3.50 ea way to 4 major resorts. Also, the hotel will shuttle you to another P & R about 5 miles away that several bus routes come by most of the day, twice an hour and go up Big Cottonwood Canyon (Brighton/Solitude) and Little Cottonwood Canyon (Alta/Snowbird) and back. Often standing room only, but rides are short (35-45 minutes). If ya got kids, Brighton lets kids 10 and under ski for FREE with one adult pass. Also, if you're renting equip., the hotel hooked us up to Utah Ski and Golf, where we got a 20% discount and will pick you up and take you to the shop for the fitting, equip. and back! They also have a nightly dinner shuttle that goes to the local area restaurant of your choice if you want. Other hotels likely have similar deals if you check around, but we were happy. Good luck, currently skiing is good but they will need more snow soon. |

Thanks for the info. The salt lake city ski reservation site give little info. Compared to Steamboat's site they really suck.
