Thats for sharing the link! It looks like a great resource for skiing in Australia. Have you done any pricing on skiing in Australia? If so, was it very expensive or just the same as a skiing holiday in any other county?

I've been to Australia to visit a friend. But i've never skiied there before. I'm assuming it's quite nice, seeing most of Australia has really nice scenery and other things.

I've never been, could you possibly tell us more about the cost / snow conditions?

Skiing in Oz

If there is one thing I can talk on, it is in skiing here in Australia.

The season is usually shorter (June to Oct) & dollar for dollar would be more expensive, than Nth H/sphere.
That not withstanding, we do have some great spots / resorts, Thredbo beinging the best for vertical & probably Preshier for lifts etc, I think 50 something.
The snow can be wet, like WET !!
And you get out in it, all conditions, cause it cost so dam much, & you've only got a week (most times).

Hope this is of some help

Cheers

I should have added there is a book worth getting, if your thinking of heading to Oz or NZ. It's called The SNOW GUIDE to Australia & New Zealand, by Robert Upe & Jim Darby cost approx $40.00 AUD.
It's got ALL the info on ALL the resorts, big & little , here & in New Zealand. you could probably get a copy on ebay or amazon.

Cheers

If you live near ski fields in the states or Canada, skiing in Aus is not really worth the cost. Our beaches here are better than anywhere in the world but our ski fields are not. They are well organised, have a great lift system, ski schools are second to none and the facilities are excellent. The problem is the snow, alot of the base is man made snow, it is very very wet. The season is short so it is very expensive. I live 9 hours drive, or 4 hours fly and drive from the snow and choose to ski in Japan. Please visit Australia because it is fantastic but don't get too excited about the skiing.

Not sure I'd head to Australia for the skiing... would be far more liekyl to visit during their summer for the more obvious reasons
Stick with Europe or America would be my advice.
