Skiing Trip to Europe. Good places to go ?

Hi , Thanks for taking a look at my thread !
I am looking at going to Europe to Ski. I am from Australia and am looking for ideas on places where I can take my teenagers skiing. I would be greatful if you could pass on any names of places or resorts that you may have experienced that were good so I could do some research.
Last Year I took the kids to Japan on advice from a friend and the whole trip was fantasic !
Many thanks , Ian

Hi I am from Holland. My favorite places in Europe are:
- Zermatt (Switzerland), cheaper alternative Cervinia Italy (access to same region).
- St. Anton or Lech in Austria (Arlberg region).
- Trois Vallees (France) big. I prefer Meribel in the middle!

Kind regards, Sascia

Zermatt seems great, would love to go there.

I hear that Meribel is a great place to go, especially if you like your Apres?

A great one for kids is montecampione especailly if you can get flights to Milan, Bergamo, or Piancavallo is really family friendly too if you can get flights to Venice Treviso

Both are slightly smaller resorts but again both are perfect for families.

Might be worth checking a activitybreaks.com as they include ski passes and ski hire for the whole family...

I have not been to a lot of locations but I have been to the Ziller valley (Zillertal) in Austria twice this year (three times if you count a single day in august)!

I really like this area, it has a lot of pistes and some of the areas in the valley are connected so you can ski directly from one area to another! Another thing is, if you don't like a particular area or want to try something different you can take the bus or train for free to one of the other areas - the ski pass is for the entire valley. Depending on the month you are going there, if the snow should be not too good there is a glacier too where you can actually ski year round!

If you decide on going there I would recommend staying in Mayrhofen or Zell am Ziller. These two towns have the largest ski areas close by, and Mayrhofen definitely has the best nightlife and most shops and restaurants.

I'd send a link to an interactive map, but I can't since I need 4 more posts to the forum!
